REPORT : 2021 Q3

This report offers insight into large account takeovers trends that happened over the third quarter of 2021.

FINDINGS

Twitter and Snapchat had a small events without much detail.
Discord saw a surge in September.
Facebook ATO appears to be transitioning to Meta handles.
Myntra had a surge of point redemption fraud.

NOTES

Twitter had a visible bump without much root cause. I can't explain why pile-ons happen on different handles for different days. Other users may search for other "hacked" complaints and copy them(?).

Discord appears to be surging this quarter. Lots of different fraud areas - sold OG / vanity accounts, scam links, and purchases of Nitro gifts.

Facebook had a large drop in early September likely due to name change and handle changes.

Myntra appears with credit and point redemption complaints.
